Norman is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a Certified Controls Specialist, and a Microsoft Office Specialist. He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and studied Computer Information Sciences.
Norman has held leadership roles in 20 ERP and 15 EDI projects through his career. He is an expert in the technologies and operations pertaining to supply chain vendor compliance, with experience beginning in 1993.
Prior to starting Katzscan in January 1996, Norman had progressive career positions (Programmer, Programmer Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Information Technology Manager) with some of the country's most well-known consumer product brands: Fotomat (film and photo processing), Tropicana Products (beverages), Hanes (apparel), and Gitano (fashion apparel), as well as lesser-known companies such as Huyck-Formex (industrial textiles and vacuum foils for the paper industry), FLA Orthopedics (medical products manufacturer and distributor), and Gepetto (women's apparel manufacturer).
Since its beginnings in January 1996, companies have engaged Katzscan to direct the business analysis, architecture, development, integration, quality assurance, and evolution of: enterprise software roadmaps, business process improvements, software applications, data governance, supply chain relationships, and organizational readiness initiatives as an embedded strategic partner and consultant.
Services include the management of cross-functional project teams of developers, internal customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders from initial planning through change management and final signoff.
A relationship champion, Norman Katz pulls together internal resources and external stakeholders (e.g. customers, software vendors, contract manufacturers, third-party distributors) to forge and strengthen supply chain relationships. Supply chain chargeback - financial penalty - detection and reduction is a specialty, and this is achieved through relationship building and technical and operational analysis.
Katzscan will perform data analysis, operations investigations, and systems overviews as part of “surgical strike” discoveries to determine root-causes of problems, then define and present strategic remedy options and assist in tactical engagement of solutions. Lean Six Sigma methodologies as well as Agile and Waterfall methodologies are leveraged for the full scope of business planning, alignment, and collaboration in achieving effective results without compromising the quality of the work product.
